Q1-7 What are the "Custodian" and "User"?
1. "Custodian": Refers to personnel in charge of the asset.
2. "User": Refers to personnel using the asset directly.
3. It is the responsibility of both the "Custodian" and "User" to take proper care of the asset. Assets may not be transferred or loaned out without permission. Their responsibilities include:
(1) Acceptance of newly purchased assets.
(2) Label the asset after confirmation.
(3) Ensure that records on assigned assets are consistent with the records of the Property Management Division.
(4) Complete the borrowing procedure with the unit asset custodian before using an asset.
(5) Proper care and maintenance of assigned (borrowed) assets.
(6) Pay compensation on assigned (borrowed) property that is damaged or lost.
(7) Cooperate with the unit asset custodian on random inventories and annual general inventories.
(8) Transfer of assets before re-assignment or resignation.
4. Those who are exempt from completing the "Resignation Form" (Office of Personnel Services) may not be designated as the "custodian" for assets.
